Date change in 2007 for DST

On August 8, 2005, President George W. Bush signed the Energy Policy Act of 2005. This Act changed the time change dates for Daylight Saving Time in the U.S. Beginning in 2007, DST will begin on the second Sunday of March and end the first Sunday of November. The Secretary of Energy will report the impact of this change to Congress. Congress retains the right to revert the Daylight Saving Time back to the 2005 time schedule once the Department of Energy study is complete.

Welcome New DR Director

Forwarded Message from the Rick Patchin,Cleanup and Recovery Yahoo Group!

Thu Sep 28, 2006 3:00 pm (PST)

Dr. White announced on Wednesday that Stuart Lang will be the new Disaster Relief, World Changer, and Baptist Buliders consultant for the Georgia Baptist Convention.

Stuart and Kim Crumbie will be moving their offices to the Associational Missions Ministry of the GBC.

Frank Nuckolls is the speciallist in this ministry. It is also the ministry the Ricky Thrasher our Crisis Truma Intervention Task Force leader works with.

There are two other ministry assistants in the ministry, Emily Hill and Lorri Cruse. This office is located in the new building next to the Men's Ministry office.

Dr. White explained to the Convention employees since the majority of our units were by associations, this seems like a great fit in the long run.

We welcome Stuart as our new DR director and pray for he and his
family as they make this transistion.

Subject
GA. Supreme Court/Marriage Amendment

Praise the Lord, today the Georgia Supreme Court ruled unanimously to overturn a lower court ruling against the Marriage Amendment in Georgai.

That means that the vote of 76% of the people of Georgia stands and the Marriage Amendment has been reinstated.

As you know the Georgia Baptist Convention, the Alliance Defense Fund and fourteen state lawmakers had filed a friend-of-the-court brief in the case.

Thank you for your prayers and for the support in this appeal to the Georgia Supreme Court.

    Ask yourself, Am I Ready?

With another thunderstorm season upon us, are you really ready for an emergency?

Georgia Baptist Disaster Relief Net And Other Sunday Nets
    This event repeats every week.
Event Location: 3865 KHz Plus or Minus QRM
    Notes:
Please join fellow Georgia Baptist Communicators at 16:00 local time on 3865 KHz on Sunday afternoon for the Georgia Baptist Disaster Relief Net. We look forward to your participation.

Also remember the Southbears Regional Net on 7260- Khz at 15:30  local and the Southbears National Net on 14.260-14.265 Mhz at 17:30 local time.

SouthBear Nets

As a result of discussions at National Roundtable last month activity is
beginning to pick up on the Southbears nets.  It was decided to better
cover the US since propagation is poor was to divide the nets into
geographical quadrants.  Don Miller, N4ZUV, from Florida agreed to assume
the responsibility of Eastern Net Manager and Paul Ridley, N5PR, from New
Mexico agreed to assume the responsibility of Western Net Manager.  Don has
had some success with calling the 40 meter net on Sunday afternoons on 7260
Khz at 3:30 Eastern Time.  Paul will be away on Sundays for several weeks
and will get the Western segment started in a few weeks.

I spoke yesterday with David Johnson, KB5YLG, near Dallas and asked him if
he would mind trying to call a 20 meter net on Sunday afternoons for a few
weeks to see if propagation might be favorable on that band.  David will
call the 20 meter net at 5:30 Eastern, 4:30 Central on 14.260-14.265
Mhz.  If you are available that time of day listen for David as he is
located pretty well in the South Central part of the US and if conditions
are good should be able to hear several of us.

So, for the time being Southbears nets will be as follows on Sunday afternoons:

40 meters on 7260 Khz at 3:30 Eastern  N4ZUV Net Control

20 meters 14.260-14.265 Mhz at 5:30 Eastern, KB5YLG Net Control

If you are available during these times please try to check in and lets see
if we can't get some activity started back up on these nets.
